Chris Butler giving the thumbs up after his five as he prepares to take a nap in the van. Coach Lite also had a tough day, as he had to constantly dodge giant orange blurs from squishing him.

Tuesday kept things rolling with a tempo run on some of Jasper's surrounding trails in the morning, and a recovery classic ski up the road to Mt. Edith Cavell, which easily takes the cake for best pavement of the year. And even with a bit of rain overnight, things during the day were just downright pleasant.

This is a shot Zach and Joey probably wish wasn't taken during their "tempo" run. While doubling back on the trail, I noticed these two having a moment across the meadow. Cute.

This was our recovery pond by our cabins named "Dead Mans Hole". With a name like that, you didn't really want to soak too long...

Some classic reco going on. Jasper has some crazy quiet roads during the fall.

Hardly anytime had passed by the time Wednesday rolled around, marking another five-hour roller ski workout (this time classic) from Jasper and our return to Canmore. It must have been over seven years ago while training with the Foothills Nordic High Performance group that we would take a bus up to Jasper, and ride back to Banff in three nights. The first day of those bike trips we would ride a whole 50km (seemed like a big deal back when I was 14) to the Sunwapta Falls Resort and spend the night. Yesterday I passed that same resort on my roller skis on my third hour.
Now that seems like progression.
